CAMEROON: Woman slaughters, attempts cooking her 6-month-old baby

A woman in Pitoa in the North region of Cameroon has slaughtered her own 6-month-old baby into pieces and ready to cook the parts.

She was caught in the process at the point when she placed the body pieces into a pot ready for the fire. 

The six-month-old baby was not her only target as she also had intents of slaughtering her other two year old child before the neighbors alerted security agents. 

She is currently under police custody.

This sacrilege has sparked a social brouhaha in and outside the country as there are some women that have been crying to have just an opportunity to conceive. 

While some people allude acute hunger and poverty to be the possible causes or reasons behind such an inhumane act, others say that it is purely spiritual and maybe some sort of witchcraft.
