“Anestin Chi has been recognised by Pearson for her excellent dedication in supporting learners to attain their full potential despite working in a very challenging context with limited resources”, one of the judges mentioned.
Emerging as one of the winners from a pool of over 2300 entries globally is a well deserved achievement for Anestin.
According to one of her nominees as per the award page, "Anestin fosters an atmosphere where mistakes are seen as opportunities for growth rather than failures. This approach reduces the fear of judgment among students, encouraging them to participate more actively in class discussions."
Anestin has, in the past, received several other awards, among which the prestigious Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Award, 2021; the IELTS Morgan Terry Memorial Award, 2022 and British Council Teacher Award, 2021 as well as several travel grants and scholarships such as the Hornby Educational Trust scholarship.
The Pearson Award, therefore, adds up to the many well- deserved accolades she has already received.
“Winning the Pearson Award is a profound recognition of the passion, dedication and impact that I have brought and continue to bring to my classroom. This award affirms hours of preparation and commitment to nurturing students' language skills and personal growth”, Anestin said.
To Anestin, this is “more than a personal achievement, [as] this award underscores significant contributions made towards helping learners to unlock global opportunities through language. Recognition on this scale provides encouragement to keep exploring creative teaching strategies and inspiring learners.”
“I am immensely indebted to colleagues who nominated me and I am truly grateful to Pearson for this recognition.”, she added.
Born into a humble family, Anestin was deeply inspired by her unrelenting mother, now of blessed memory, to whom she dedicates all her awards.
