Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj has announced that he will step down by the end of October.
He made the announcement in a speech delivered on state media on Wednesday.
“I declare my sincere desire to hand over my duties to the next executive authority no later than the end of October,” PM Fayez al-Sarraj.
“Hopefully, the dialogue committee will complete its work and choose a new presidential council and prime minister,” he added.
Appointed in 2015 to lead the Presidential council, he also heads the Government of National Accord (GNA).
