President-elect Joe Biden has won the state of Georgia which used to be a Republican stronghold for close to three decades since Bill Clinton won it in 1992.
This final win seals Biden’s victory to the White House with 306 votes exceeding the 270 votes threshold.
President Donald Trump who is yet to concede defeat however, won the state of North Carolina giving him a total of 232 votes.
The results in the states of Georgia and North Carolina were the last to be projected to declare the final winner of the US 2020 presidential election.
Biden’s total votes of 360 reflects the same “landslide” victory achieved by incumbent Republican candidate Donald Trump in 2016 against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton with 232 votes.
What goes around comes around!
Biden and his team are expected to officially begin their presidential journey in January 2021.
