A video circulating on social media has shown an African-American George Floyd in his 40s been pinned to the ground by a Minneapolis Police officer using his knee.
Floyd later died after crying out to the police officer that he could not breathe.
“I can’t breathe”
The footage which was recorded by a bystander later went viral on social media inciting a community outrage.
Consequently, the four Minneapolis Police officers who were on duty have been fired for their egregious actions.
However, Floyd’s family and love ones continue to demand for justice as they ask that the officers should be charged with murder.
“They treated him worse than they treat animals”, said late Mr Floyd’s brother Philonise Floyd, adding that “They took a life – they deserve life?!”
At the moment, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is conducting a federal civil rights investigation.
