CAMEROON: University Games 2020 cancelled

With over 5,000 participants yearly, the 23rd edition of the University Games that were initially slated for 23 to 30 May 2020 at the University of Ngaoundere has been canceled.
Higher Education Minister, and Chancellor of the academic orders, Jacques Fame Ndongo have said that funds for the 2020 University games will be redirected in the fight against the propagation of the novel coronavirus on campuses.

“There will no longer be the University Games this year. They have been postponed until next year. Part of the funds that had been planned for the organization this year will be redirected in the implementation of barrier measures against the coronavirus in universities", Jacques Fame Ndongo explained.
