The Moroccan government on Sunday 14 June 2020 on the instructions of King Mohammed VI announced that the country will assist 15 African countries to combat the novel Coronavirus.
Cameroon is one of the fifteen African countries to benefit from Morocco’s support in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
The medical supplies are composed of eight million face masks, 900,000 visors, 600,000 hygiene caps, 60,000 medical coats, 30,000 litres of hydroalcoholic gel, 75,000 packs of chloroquine and 15,000 packs of Azithromycin, two drugs used for the treatment of Covid-19.
It is interesting to note that all of the products and protective equipment, which make up the medical aid sent to sister African countries, are manufactured in Morocco by Moroccan companies, and comply with the current standards set by the World Health Organization.
Other African countries that are beneficiaries of the Moroccan COVID-19 aid include Burkina Faso, Chad, Comoros Islands, Congo, Swaziland, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, DR Congo, Senegal, Tanzania and Zambia.
