The Prime Minister of France Edouard Philippe has resigned.
He resigned barely hours after President Emmanuel Macron announced a possible Cabinet Reshuffle ahead of the 2022 Presidential election.
PM Edouard Philippe resigns following a bitter failure of the Republic in March, party of Emmanuel Macron to the municipal elections of 2020.
The information was confirmed by the Elysée Palace in a press release. "Mr. Edouard Philippe today handed the resignation of the government to the President of the Republic, who accepted it. Together with the members of the government, he will handle current affairs until the appointment of the new government," the statement read.
