USA: Kanye West announces he is running for President

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION,” West tweeted.

Kanye West, the 43-year-old American rap star has announced on Twitter that he is running for the upcoming US Presidential election.

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk immediately responded to West's presidential announcement, writing, "You have my full support."

West's wife, Kim Kardashian West responded to her husband's message by retweeting the tweet to show her support for her husband’s president bid.

Other candidates contesting for this position against Republican Donald Trump and his presumptive Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

However, White House correspondent April Dryan says that “Rapper #KanyeWest hasn’t even completed the required FEC filing to actually be a Presidential candidate & is only running for news headlines!”

Internet users are speculating that West could be using this announcement to attract publicity for his upcoming album, "God's Country," and its first single, "Wash Us in the Blood," which released recently.

This is because it is not the first time that West is announcing his bid to run for elections.
