Initially scheduled for January to February 2021 in Cameroon, the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition has been postponed to 2022 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic plaguing the world.

The outbreak of the Coronavirus Virus in the world and Africa in particular has affected many sportive activities scheduled for the years 2020 and 2021 on the African continent and elsewhere in the world.

Remarkable, the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 that was initially scheduled for April 2020 has been postponed to January 2021.

The African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) 2020 has been cancelled completely.
